Google Play Store preps new tools for app discovery (Update: Screenshots)
- Google appears to be working on an “interests” system for Play Store app discovery.
- Settings will let you control your interests by clearing previous selections.
- We expect to see the Play Store’s recommendations begin appearing in your For You view
Update, July 21, 2024 (11:24 PM ET): Here are some screenshots for the “interests” feature as it shows up in the “For You” tab on the Google Play Store:
We can see Google presenting the “interests” chips in the Play Store, ranging from Communication to Productivity to Photography. The “Based on your interests” section appears after you make a selection, displaying some popular apps based on your interests, helping in app discovery.
