I’ve been feeling quite nostalgic lately, especially for old camera phones. Last month, I praised the Nokia 9 PureView for its unique camera setup that makes every shot an adventure. I’ve also revisited the LG G4, a phone that sparked my love for photography. However, there’s one more older Android camera phone I still carry around whenever possible.

In its prime, the HUAWEI P30 Pro was the best Android phone money could buy. Sure, that’s just my opinion, but plenty of evidence supports it. It was durable and relatively compact compared to today’s phones. It had simple yet attractive styling, fast performance, and excellent battery life.

A blog post announcing OpenAI’s $6.5B acquisition of Jony Ive’s hardware startup “io” has been taken down due to a court order stemming from a trademark complaint by a company called iyO.
OpenAI clarified that despite speculation, the partnership with Ive is still ongoing, and it’s exploring options regarding the name dispute.
iyO, which already sells an AI-powered “audio computer,” claims the “io” name infringes on their trademark.

All traces of OpenAI’s much-hyped hardware venture with legendary Apple designer Jony Ive have suddenly disappeared due to a court order triggered by a trademark complaint. A blog post that once sat prominently on OpenAI’s website was pulled without warning, briefly showing a 404 error (h/t Max Weinbach). Naturally, this sparked speculation that the partnership between Sam Altman’s OpenAI and Ive had fallen apart. But the company has since clarified that’s not the case.

Verizon told to clarify ambiguous advertising claims after T-Mobile complaint

The National Advertising Division (NAD) has recommended that Verizon change its marketing language about satellite texting based on a complaint from T-Mobile.
T-Mobile has also challenged Verizon’s claim of being “America’s largest network,” with the watchdog calling Verizon’s advertising “ambiguous.”
Verizon has said that it’ll comply with NAD’s recommendations.

Nothing Phone 3 will get the company’s best software update promise to date

Nothing has confirmed that the Phone 3 will get a 5+7 update policy, which most likely means five years of Android OS updates and seven years of security patches.
This is the longest software support for any Nothing phone to date.
The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, which the company claims outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in several areas.

Google Maps is testing a Material 3 Expressive-style redesign on Wear OS 5.

The changes have only been rolled out to select users so far.

Screenshots and video shared with us by Telegram user Hardik show several UI changes. Captured on a Galaxy Watch 4 running Maps version 25.23.01.766241648.W, the new look features larger icons and layout choices that better suit small circular screens. Satellite connectivity provider Skylo has confirmed the existence of the Exynos 2500.
